Memodyne Official Website › How It Works

How It Works

How Memodyne is supposed to work, step by step

Four of the six names feed one chain: arginine to nitric oxide to wider blood vessels.

The chain is real chemistry at every step and the ingredient choice is sensible, because two of the four are citrulline, which survives digestion better than arginine does. Where the case thins is at the far end: the single trial that measured cerebral blood flow used 8.8 g a day in young athletes, and no amount is published for this capsule.

The mechanism the seller describes, followed in order, with the two steps that carry the weight and the two that do not.

The mechanism

The chain Memodyne is built on

Nitric oxide is a gas the body makes on purpose. It is produced inside the endothelial cells that line every blood vessel, it diffuses a very short distance into the smooth muscle around the vessel, and it tells that muscle to relax. A relaxed vessel is a wider vessel and a wider vessel carries more blood at lower pressure.

The raw material for it is arginine. Give the body more arginine and, in principle, it makes more nitric oxide. That is the entire premise of four of the six names on this label, and a 2019 review of oral arginine and citrulline supplementation sets out how well it holds up for blood pressure.

Arginine goes in, and most of it does not arrive

Arginine taken by mouth meets arginase in the gut wall and again in the liver. The stable-isotope study followed a single labelled arginine meal through human metabolism and found the dominant fate was urea synthesis rather than nitric oxide. This is the reason plain arginine is the weakest of the four names here.

Citrulline takes the route arginine cannot

Citrulline is absorbed intact, passes the liver untouched and is converted to arginine in the kidney. A human availability study raised circulating citrulline directly at 0.18 g per kg a day, and a 2026 pharmacokinetic model quantified the conversion step. Giving both together raised plasma arginine faster than either alone, which is an argument for a formula that carries both, as this one does.

Nitric oxide is produced, locally and briefly

It has a half-life measured in seconds and works where it is made. That is by design — a local signal rather than a circulating hormone — but it means the effect follows the supply rather than building on it. There is no reservoir to fill.

The vessels widen, and blood pressure moves a little

This step has the best evidence of the four. A 2025 meta-analysis of citrulline supplementation and watermelon intake in middle-aged and older adults found a measurable reduction in blood pressure, and a review of citrulline in older adults covers the vascular and muscular side of the same literature.

And then a cognitive outcome has to follow

This is where the chain stops being a chain and becomes a hope. One trial has measured cerebral blood flow after citrulline, in twenty young male athletes at 8.8 g a day for five days, and it measured a breath-holding index rather than memory. Nobody has run the equivalent study in sixty-year-olds at a capsule dose, and nobody has run any study of this product.

The other two

Where niacin and calcium sit in the Memodyne formula

Niacin: the energy half

The body converts niacin into NAD and NADP, the two coenzymes that carry electrons through the reactions that release energy from food. Brain tissue is metabolically expensive and uses a disproportionate share of the body's energy budget, so the link is not fanciful.

The cognitive evidence is observational. The Chicago Health and Aging Project followed dietary niacin intake against incident Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline, and a 2025 analysis found similar associations across B vitamins generally. Diet studies describe populations; they do not test supplements.

Calcium carbonate: the outlier

It is not part of the nitric-oxide chain and it is not part of the energy chain. It is the cheapest and densest form of supplemental calcium, and it is the reason this label's timing instruction is worth a second look.

Its one randomised look at cognition, the Perth analysis, found nothing in either direction across fourteen and a half years. That is a reassuring result rather than a supportive one, and this page prints it as the former.

Honest critique

What would have to be true for Memodyne to work as described

  • The capsule would have to carry enough citrulline to raise plasma arginine meaningfully. Published trials use grams; a capsule holds a fraction of a gram across six ingredients.
  • The resulting nitric oxide would have to reach cerebral vessels specifically, rather than the larger peripheral ones where most of the blood-pressure effect is measured.
  • Wider cerebral vessels would have to translate into a measurable cognitive difference in somebody whose memory is ordinarily age-affected rather than impaired.
  • And that difference would have to be large enough to notice against the day-to-day variation in anyone's attention, sleep and mood.

None of those four is impossible and none of them has been demonstrated for this product. That is the state of the evidence, printed plainly, and it is why this shop sells the capsule as a daily routine rather than as a result.

Context

None of these four is sold on this website, and all four are printed here because a buyer weighing this purchase deserves to know what the alternatives look like.

The fourth row is the awkward one for a shop, and it is also the cheapest thing on the list. It is in one of the five bonus downloads that ship free with two of the three packs.

Questions

How Memodyne works: common questions

What does Memodyne actually do in the body?

Four of its six names raise the supply of arginine, which the body converts into nitric oxide, which relaxes blood-vessel walls. Niacin becomes NAD and NADP, the coenzymes of energy metabolism. Calcium carbonate is a mineral salt and is not part of either chain.

Is the nitric-oxide mechanism real?

Yes, and it is not controversial. What is unsettled is whether it produces a cognitive result at the amounts a six-ingredient capsule can hold, which is a different question and has no trial behind it for this product.

Why does the formula use citrulline as well as arginine?

Because oral arginine is largely broken down before it reaches general circulation, and citrulline is not. Citrulline is absorbed intact and converted to arginine by the kidney, so it raises plasma arginine more reliably than arginine itself does.

Has anyone measured blood flow in the brain after citrulline?

Once, in the record this page cites. Twenty male taekwondo athletes aged eighteen to thirty took 8.8 g a day for five days and their breath-holding index improved after sprint intervals. That is a real cerebrovascular result in a population and at a dose very unlike this purchase.
